Dale Earnhardt Jr. provided race fans an unbelievable moment when he secured a NASCAR Cup Series® victory at DAYTONA International Speedway® in July of 2001. Just five months after one of the darkest days in the sport’s history, Dale Jr. brought smiles back to his family and NASCAR® fans alike by driving a special No. 8 Chevrolet to DAYTONA® victory lane.

Making Dale Jr.’s remarkable win even more special was the partnership that adorned his car. Longtime sponsor Budweiser backed Dale Jr.’s No. 8 car with a unique livery that promoted that season’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game. With baseball stitches and an unmistakable baseball player adorning the sides, the combination of Dale Jr.’s car and his trip to the winner’s circle became one of the most iconic NASCAR® moments.

Now, in 2025, Dale Jr. is bringing the memories of his Daytona win back to the track – and to the ball field. Once again, the iconic Budweiser livery will feature baseball elements, just like it did in 2001, on Dale Jr.’s Late Model Stock Car in the August CARS Tour race at South Carolina’s Anderson Speedway.

At Anderson, Dale Jr.’s No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet Late Model will spotlight August’s Speedway Classic baseball game that will take place at Bristol Motor Speedway. The same pinstripes, ballplayer, and more elements that were on Dale Jr.’s car at Daytona in
2001 will once again ride along in this return to the track.

Now, Lionel Racing is excited to offer the official die-cast replica of the No. 8 Budweiser Speedway Classic Late Model. Produced on Lionel’s updated Late Model tooling, this die-cast will be an accurate replica in 1:24 scale of the newer generation Late Model Stock
Car. Each 1:24 die-cast features an opening hood, authentic body contour, hand-applied decals, and more. Collectors of autographed racing memorabilia can also choose a 1:24 die-cast that is signed by Dale Jr. on the windshield. To further enhance collectability of
this incredible die-cast, numerous Lionel Racing Special Finish die-cast are available, including radiant Color Chrome, silky Liquid Color, glittery Flashcoat Color, ravishing Galaxy Color, and metallic Raw finish editions.
