In 2003, iconic rock band 3 Doors Down partnered with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s NASCAR Xfinity Series® team to promote its single, “The Road I’m On” through the No. 8 Chevrolet driven by legendary driver Tony Stewart at Michigan. The music video for the tune featured both Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

More than 20 years later, that memorable livery will hit the track once again on Sammy Smith’s No. 8 car during The Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® at Darlington Raceway. Smith’s car will feature many of the same elements of Stewart’s ride from Michigan. The throwback will also spotlight some of TMC Transportation’s key employee-owners in place of band members that originally rode along the side of the 2003 edition of the car.

Now, race fans can add the official Lionel Racing die-cast of Smith’s No. 8 TMC Throwback Chevrolet to their NASCAR® collections. Produced on Lionel Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series® Chevy tool, each 1:24-scale replica features an opening hood, rolling retro Goodyear tires, an authentic decal package, and more. Collectors can also choose a 1:24-scale edition signed on the windshield by Smith. A smaller 1:64-scale model is also available for order.
